THE MIND IS FUCKED

State of mind. Sometimes, it’s either fucked or just okay. And yet, we rarely talk about it, with “fucked” feeling like it's the only way to describe it. It can get dark on occasion, and it’s confronting to admit it. So we push it down, mask it, suppress it with small talk and everyday smiles. But the truth is, when someone asks about your state of mind, they’re asking about the most powerful yet fragile part that generally shapes you—the way you think and feel in the moment.

Being on the bike teaches you that it’s best to be “in the right state of mind”, to focus, to perform, to be resilient. But that’s not always how it plays out. The mind is chaotic, a kaleidoscope of colours and shades, light and dark. It’s an internal ride of emotions, twisting and unpredictable. Forests of fear. Valleys of vulnerability. Skies split between hope and doubt. Some days you feel unstoppable. Others, you just keep moving forward, willing your destination. And sometimes, the mind likes to play tricks. A spontaneous side quest to fuck with you. The real question isn’t whether it overpowers your headspace, but rather how you address and work through it. How do you become fitter in your mind, not just your body?

In collaboration with South Australian artist Jake Foreman, each piece is bold, symbolic, and alive, a reminder that everyone carries their own inner landscape.

The State of Mind Collection acknowledges this familiar ride. Like everything we create at Black Sheep, it’s never just about how good the kit looks on you. The underlying meaning is found in the enlightening conversations that emerge regarding mental health, fragility, resilience and the liminal spaces in between. It’s about shining a light on the internal battles many fight silently, every day, and giving them the attention and support they deserve.

In collaboration with South Australian artist Jake Foreman, each piece is bold, symbolic and alive with potential. His artwork echoes the inner landscapes we carry, reflective, surreal and shifting with silhouettes. A timely reminder that while our state of mind changes from moment to moment, it’s never a permanent perspective. We always have the transformative power to alter the course.
